A 40-year-old woman is now on life support after a near-drowning incident Sunday at a backyard pool in Surprise, authorities said.
The Surprise Fire Department found the woman floating face down in the water, pulled her out and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation, said Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Pool.
The incident occurred at the 16400 block of 165th Drive. The victim is now at Sun Health Del E. Webb Hospital, Pool said.
“It was an extremely critical incident,” Pool said. “The victim was in a cardiac arrest situation. We got the victim's pulse back on the scene, and she was taken to the hospital.”
There were no immediate updates on the victim's condition.
