A toddler was found floating in a pool at a Tempe home Wednesday afternoon, but police said he was crying and alert on the way to the hospital.

The one-year-old's family members told police that he had fallen in and they did not know how long he was in the water at the home in the 7600 block of South Los Feliz Drive, near Elliot Road and McClintock Drive.

Family members found him and were attempting to resuscitate the toddler when Tempe fire fighters arrived.
