A 25-year-old Mesa man drowned this weekend at the Salt River.
Police the man had been swimming all day Saturday and became submerged, possibly out of fatigue.
A witness went in to rescue the man, but couldn't find him. The man was pulled from the river and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The drowning remains under investigation. Authorities have not released the man's name pending notification of his family.
