An 11-month-old girl drowned in a bathtub Sunday at her home at Interstate 17 and Cactus Road, police said.

The girl was in the tub with her 2-year-old sister about 6:30 p.m. when she drowned, Lt. Bruce Anest said. Police said the parents left the two alone in the tub for five or more minutes.

When they walked back into the bathroom, the girl was face down in the water.

They called for help, and rescue crews came to perform CPR.

The girl was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead an hour later.
